Hello, my friends. I am excited about this article because it is reminiscent of about ten conversations I have had in the last week. The title of this week’s blog is “You Show Me Yours, and I Will Show You Mine.” I am talking about your goals and objectives – and the tools you use to be most effective. These are not abstract concepts, though many view them as such. At the beginning of the year, they make New Year’s resolutions. They have a passive thought about becoming better, getting in shape, quitting smoking…but then, within a very short amount of time (sometimes hour … [Read more...]
The Power of the Pack
(If you like Ed's T-Shirt, you can purchase at Under Armour.) Hello, my friends. Today, I want to talk about “The Power of the Pack.” Have you ever seen a documentary or nature show about wolves? They're very unique animals – fascinating, actually. They travel in groups – commonly known as “packs”. Every member of a pack knows their role. The overall survivability and effectiveness of a group of wolves is dependent on each and every wolf knowing – and performing - its role. We are people and not wolves, but we are social creatures by our nature as well. And the fact is, we are more … [Read more...]
What’s Best for a Headache?
Hello, my friends, In this article, I am going to answer a question that I get asked on a regular basis: “What does a coach actually do for a client?” It's analogous to a doctor and a patient in this way… If you would ask a doctor, “What do you do for a patient?” of course, the answer is, “It depends on the symptoms and condition of the patient.” Very similarly, what a coach does depends entirely upon the circumstances, goals, objectives, and needs of the client. There is no cookie-cutter recipe for what a coach does, aside from following the coaching process. The coaching process … [Read more...]
The Most Contagious Disease of All
Hello, my friends, Today, I am going to talk about one of the biggest misconceptions in the area of personal development and success. The title is “The Most Contagious Disease of All.” Do you know what it is? It’s not the measles, the mumps, the flu, or polio. It’s good old-fashioned attitude. We don’t often think of a negative attitude as a disease, but we certainly should, because it is contagious. It spreads from person to person literally all over the world; from co-worker to co-worker; from parent to child, from leader to follower, and every realm of human existence. When there ar … [Read more...]
From a Phoenix to an Eagle
Hello, my friend. This particular blog is more of a personal note to all of you. I am so excited to be back with you! Many of you have heard the Greek myth about the Phoenix, the mythological bird rising from the ashes. I remember reading about it as a child. Metaphorically speaking, I feel like a Phoenix that has risen from the ashes and is ready to soar like an eagle again. As some of you know, I have recently recovered from a pretty serious surgery where I had a brain tumor. It was not cancer, thankfully. I am absolutely full of gratitude for many people, most notably my wife and … [Read more...]
